Privado collects no personal data. We do not collect names, email addresses, browsing history, or any identifying information.
Text you translate may be sent to third-party services depending on the mode you choose:
translate.googleapis.com, Google's publicly accessible translation endpoint
(unofficial, no SLA). Google may log these requests. This is subject to
Google's Privacy Policy.storage.local and is never sent to our servers — it goes only to the
provider's own endpoint.Privado stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's
storage.local API:
This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
<all_urls>: Required to inject the bilingual
translation UI into web pages you visit. We only process page text — we do not read
passwords, form inputs, or other sensitive fields.storage: To save your preferences locally.scripting / activeTab: To run the
translation content script on the current tab.When using Machine mode, requests go to Google's translation API. We have no control over how Google processes those requests. Please review Google's Privacy Policy for details.
Privado is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If this policy changes materially, we will update the "Last updated" date above and note the change in the extension's release notes.
